About

Car guides for people who want the useful version, not the loudest claim.

CarMaxx Ink exists because car research gets messy fast. One tab says horsepower, another says market import, a listing skips the engine code, and a forum thread turns a real issue into a slogan. We organize that noise into readable guides, visual specs, and buyer checks.

Why it is needed

A good car page should lower the reader's risk.

We are not trying to make every car sound special. The job is to explain the exact version, the facts that change the decision, and the checks a reader should run before a listing, auction post, or social clip becomes a purchase plan.

  • What exact version is this guide talking about?
  • Which numbers are official, market-specific, approximate, or owner-reported?
  • What should a buyer verify before trusting a listing or forum claim?
  • Where does a visual guide make a complicated spec easier to remember?

How guides are built

Readable first. Source-aware underneath.

Identify

Start with the exact car

A guide is anchored to model generation, body style, market, engine, drivetrain, trim, and year range before the story is written around it.

Verify

Separate facts from useful context

Official data, public databases, source notes, owner patterns, and inspection warnings are treated as different kinds of evidence.

Explain

Turn the evidence into a decision aid

The finished page should help a reader understand the car faster, spot weak claims, and know what to check next.

Independence

Not a lot. Not a lender. Not a brand page.

CarMaxx Ink is an independent automotive guide website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to CarMax, Inc., and does not sell, finance, appraise, or list vehicles.

When an article includes commercial links, those links should be disclosed clearly. A useful guide has to let the reader know whether money, access, or sponsorship could affect trust.

Limits

What we will not pretend.

  • We do not sell, finance, list, inspect, broker, appraise, or certify vehicles.
  • We do not treat a generic spec table as enough when trims, markets, engines, or model years change the answer.
  • We do not use generated images as production replacements for declared article visuals.
  • We do not hide commercial relationships. Affiliate or paid links must be disclosed where readers can see them.

Corrections

Send the exact page and the better source.

If a guide has the wrong market, trim, engine, date, safety detail, or buyer warning, email editor@carmaxx.ink. Include the page URL, the line that needs review, and the strongest source you have.
